// Wear determination of acetabular component in total hip prosthesis.
Abstract
posterior.

Abstract.
A wear study of acetabular component during the marching cycle, considering some extreme loads cases as: ascend and
descend stairways, get up from a seat, etc , by means of Finite Elements Method ( FEM ), is carried out. The acetabular and
femoral component of the total hip prosthesis were independently modeled and placed in contact lastly. Several acetabul
positions were studied as well as different load cases, simulating patients with different body weight and different physical
activities. To evaluate the results routines in C language were created in order to organized the same ones for a later
statistical treatment.
