Abstract

In paper machine production processes, the role of Maintenance Management is essential, as it allows improvements in availability, product quality, and process safety.  Principal aim: to reduce the frequency of breakdowns and improve operational efficiency, the Total Productive Maintenance methodology – focused on the Autonomous Maintenance pillar was implemented on the DNT-100 equipment of Tissue Paper Machine 8. The research involved the following stages: process loss analysis, Autonomous Maintenance team formation, initial cleaning, contamination sources elimination and hard-to-reach areas, tentative Autonomous Maintenance standards development, general inspection, self-diagnosis, standardization, and autonomous management. The Implementation required to use several management tools which were key tools for adapting and improving maintenance plans within the TPM framework. The Autonomous Maintenance implementation allowed to obtain the following results: the pollution source map, the standards action, the Checklist, the self-diagnosis of routine tasks, the lubrication points, and the Autonomous Maintenance Management Dashboard.
