Resumen

La Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica del Instituto Superior Politécnico “José Antonio Echeverría” ha decidido dar los pasos
necesarios para crear la Cátedra Honorífica “Leonardo da Vinci”, con el objetivo fundamental de lograr en nuestros
estudiantes una formación más integral. Para dar cumplimiento a este ambicioso objetivo se ha escogido la figura de
Leonardo da Vinci, quien con gran maestría trabajó las artes y las ciencias, legando a la humanidad sus obras
imperecederas.
El autor, sobre la base de la consulta de diferentes documentos, ha hecho una breve reseña de la vida y obra de Leonardo
da Vinci vinculadas con el arte y la técnica. Esperamos que ésta sea de utilidad a los estudiantes y profesores, y en general a
todos los que lean esta reseña.

Abstract
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at higher Politechnical Institute José Antonio Echeverría (ISPJAE) has decided to create the
Honorary Professorship class "Leonardo da Vinci", with the fundamental objective of achieving in our students a more integral
formation. To give execution to this ambitious objective, Leonardo's figure has been chosen becouse he worked the arts and sciences
with great master, giving the legacy of his immortal works to humanity.
The author, taking as base of the consultation of different documents, has made a brief review of Leonardo da Vinci’s life and work
linked with the art and technique. We hope, it may be usefull to students and professors, and in general to all readers.
